The other night Rich and I went out to eat and you will never guess who was sitting in the next room. Anyone remember the "love" of my life Brian Sewell?? After Rich and I ordered I told him I had to say hello to a friend of mine, so I went to say hello to Brian. As he turned around, I got that old "butterfly" feeling I used to get before talking with him, but as we talked I noticed something was different. I haven't seen Brian in about 10 years and the things that used to attract me as a young girl/woman no longer were there. Sure, I still adore Brian and always will, but we are different people from what we were 10 years ago. Brian did come over to meet Rich as he was leaving which meant a lot to me! Of course, I also had to "settle a bet" that THIS Brian was not the one I had dated before meeting Rich....Brian put it to rest! :) (Brian also seemed to think it was quite funny that I had dated a guy named, Brian...lol) It was great seeing Brian again after so long and quickly catching up on each other's lives. As Rich and I went home that night though I got to thinking about the Garth Brooks song, "Unanswered Prayers" and how some of His greatest gifts really are the prayers that go unanswered! As I said Brian will always be someone special to me for many reasons, but Rich is my true love and I do thank God everyday for knowing that he was the right one for me!

Our First Anniversary

I can't believe it's been a year since I said "I Do"! to Rich!! It's been a crazy, learning year for both of us. When people told me that living together and being married to someone where two different things I didn't believe them. A year later...what a difference it makes!! Unfortunately Rich & I couldn't spend our first anniversary together because we both had to work. I was going to "growl" at his boss for making him working on our special day. However, we do have plans to spend the next day and a half together which will be fun.
For those of you that don't know this story, I have to share the day I walked down the isle. As my cousins opened the door for my dad and I walk down the isle, I saw this handsome young man standing waiting to greet me. He was of course VERY handsome, and looking VERY nervous!! My first thought when I first saw Rich?? Where's Rich!! Something inside of me wanted to stop the music and ask the question, but I guess I was trusting my dad at the time. When my dad gave me away however, I was unsure "who" I was standing next to. You see, in the time Rich & I had been together leading up to our wedding I had never seen him without his mustache....our wedding day EVERY FACIAL HAIR WAS GONE!!!!! I didn't recognize my own husband to be!!!...NOT A GOOD THING!
Well, I thankfully married the right man! This year has been fun, learning and growing together. Rich & I have done several fun things together and have continued to "get to know" what makes us....well us! We also have had our struggles! We have disagreed and clashed at times, but we always have worked things out in the end. I love waking up in the morning and not knowing what the day is going to bring except that at the end of the day I will be able to come home to Rich. Being married has been a fun and interesting journey. I love Rich very much and am proud every morning that I wake up that I am his wife.

I have had writters block for about a week now. Pratt is not an overly exciting place to be, so there's not always a lot to talk about! I have been having foot paint ever since I can remember. I am SO thankful that God has allowed me the ability to walk, but some days I think it would just be better to "cut" my feet off. Ok, I know that's probably a little harsh, but I think you get the point. Because of the pain in my feet I have spent years trying different things & have had several sugeries. Recently, I had been reading about ankle joint replacements on the internet, something I know is done to some degree. I just didn't know to what degree & if the information I was reading was accurate. I went to a podiotrist today which gave me the opprotunity to meet Dr. #.....??? I don't know I lost count a long time ago. The reason for this visit was to investigate ankle joint replacement. Unfortunately according to this doctor, there are only a couple doctors that do ankle joint replacements in the U.S. & the procedures aren't real reliable at this point. Futhermore, he indicated that I probably would not be a good candidate because of all the surgeries that have been done on my feet. I indicated that while I was wanting information on ankle joint replacements, that I would not be overly excited about the possibilty of surgery again. All I wanted I told him was to walk with some comfort and to get rid of some of this stupid limp! We talked about several options & finally decided I would try a form of braces. Wearing braces again doesn't thrill me in the least, but it is a lot better then some things I could have to do. Besides, I am hoping that the new "get-up" will provide some comfort for a while anyway.

I just finished the BEST book I have ever read in my life!! That's saying a lot for me since I tend to read a lot...I drive Rich nuts reading because I always have something in my hands to read! This book was called "The Purpose Driven Life" and if you haven't done so READ IT!! I happened upon the book on one of my trips to Walmart and thought I would give it a try. My sunday school class also happened to be reading the book at the same time. This book has just given me so many things to think about!! To explain the book in a short way, it's a book about the purpose of why we are here on earth. In a larger sense the book is about God's plan for your life. What is His purpose for me? What in the heck does He want me to be doing while I am here? There have been so many good points in this book and I just really am sad I am at the end of the book. I plan to keep it and re-read it from time to time since there are so many things to think about with this book. Go get a copy for yourself and you will know what I mean!
