What A Week!

It's been another interesting week. Baseball season is over until spring. What in the world will I ever do with myself until that time of year rolls around again? Probably the same thing I do ever year...count down the days. I am happy that the Red Sox won the World Series. I wasn't really sure "who" to root for this year, but after 86 years of not winning it was time for the Red Sox to win a World Series.
Last weekend I spent with some of my best friends at camp. There are no words to describe the weekend so I'm not going to even try. It was a great time, but so much more than that. It was such an awesome weekend and great to see everyone! I'm looking forward to the next time we can all get together again and spend time getting caught up on what's going on with each other.
This week did not slow down any! Rich and I had our walk-through for foster care on Wed morning. We now know what all we need to do to our house to be able to get liscensed. It's another step closer to us bringing children into our home and makes me very excited!! We should be able to get everything done quickly so that is encouraging. Wed evening, I went to the Pumkin Patch in Turon with some of our kids. That was one cool place! If you didn't get to go this year, make plans to do so next year because it was great!!
On Friday, I finally got my braces and you would not believe the change!!! I am walking straighter than I can ever remember in my whole life. They are going to take awhile to get used to as they are making me use muscles in my legs that I am not used to using.
Also after three weeks of being done, I went bowling Fri night. It was great to be back bowling with my friends. I did pretty good too. I had missed bowling, so it was nice to have a good night.
Today was a sad day. As some of you may know my dad has closed his glass business. After 12 years of owning his own business and 30 some years of being IN the business it is time for him to do something else. I know the decision to close has been a hard one on all of us, but I think that it will now allow my dad time to do things that he might really enjoy. I am super proud of my dad and love him more than I can say!
Hopefully, tomorrow will just be a nice long day to rest! The trick-o-treaters will be out which is always great fun to see them, especially the ones that you know well. Other than that, I don't think I will be doing much. The work week is going to be upon us again and I need a day just to veg and gather my thoughts from this emotion filled week!

Blazer, Braves, and a Wedding

I took Blazer to the vet the other day AGAIN! He's been "Mr. Stinky" recently so I took him to have it checked out. Turns out Blaze has an ear infection. I now have to attempt to flush out his ears every other day. Plus, every day I am supposed to try and put drops in his ears. If you know Blazer very well, you know that this is no easy task! He gets very unhappy with me when I try to do either one. I finally took him to my mom's this afternoon to have her help me. Still not a good time, but it was easier getting him to hold still while she "snuck" up on him and did the "dirty work"! He isn't stinking as bad, so I would say we're getting somewhere, but it's so hard to tell since he's not to cooperative. To bad they couldn't just give him a shot at the vet!
Well, "my" Braves got beat the night after they won, so they are done until next spring. I don't know how a team who spends almost the whole year in first place and wins their division can get beatten out of the first round. They seems to manage though! Oh well, as the saying goes "there's always next year"! Now I'm just going for whoever beats the Yankees, because they will probably end up going to the World Series again! :( At least now I don't have such an excuse not to get my stuff done although I'm still watching the playoff and will watch the World Series.
Emily got married yeasterday. She looked beautiful and everything went well. She was pretty nervous, which I can relate to! I have to say though that "just" being a part of the bridal party is a pretty carefree role to play from being center stage. I got to visit with a lot of people too, which was nice. Now my parents have two son-in-laws which is kind of crazy. It has been kind of nice to see our family grow in last couple years and hopefully in the next year or so Rich and I will be able to be on our way to adopting.
I have to say that after the wedding I was SO tired!! I think I would have slept all day if I hadn't made myself get up. To bad I have to go to work tomorrow! It would be kind of nice just to have the whole week off but that's not going to happen.

Braves Win...at least for tonight!

Well, I'm a happy girl tonight!! Much to Rich's "disgust" the Braves won and have will play a game 5 tomorrow night! (Poor guy didn't know JUST how much I enjoy baseball until after we started dating seriously!) It didn't start out to pretty, but in the end they won. That's all that counts! Thankfully they don't play until tomorrow night so I can watch it. Hopefully it will result in another win! At any rate, I'm excited at least for one more day!!
It's raining here tonight, which is making it cool here. I love the month of October, but I don't like the thought that it's going to be winter soon and the white junk will be coming! I just hope that it isn't raining next Sat when Emily gets married. By the way, for those of you who have written telling me how old it makes you feel that Emily is getting married...I feel very old!! My little sister shouldn't be old enough to get married, but she is. I still can see the day I went to the hospital after school to see her after being born! I am very excited for her! She's found a really good guy, for those of you that don't know Aaron. I guess I won't be able to call her "Emmy" any more!! I'll just have to call her "Mrs. Emmy"!....lol I know I'm such a goof!

I've been watching the baseball playoffs this week. "My" Braves are on the verge of loosing which is never good! Hopefully they will get going tomorrow and end up winning. You can be sure I will be glued to my TV to watch and see. Actually, I was supposed to be bowling this weekend, but instead I am having to stay home. I seem to have a crappy immune system in the last couple years. I thought I had a cold earlier in the week but I was running a fever and my chest hurt. I again graced the doctor's office with my presence. I actually saw the P.A. this time. Come to find out I was in the early stages of either bronchitis or pnemonia. Great!! Just what I need before my sister's wedding!! Fortunately I am starting to feel better which is good. Unfortunately I had to miss all my weekend activities and entertain myself at home. It hasn't been all bad I suppose I've gotten to catch up on some reading and check on what my friends Dawn and Gina have been doing. The next two weeks should be a bunch of fun with Emily's wedding going on and then the following weekend being the camp retreat. Guess I should be thankful that I got sick now instead of in the next couple weeks!
