I'm a bit miffed right now! I went to Dillions a while ago and got Valentine's stuff for the men in my life (that would be Rich and my dad). I found a couple balloons and bought them. As I was walking out the door and to my car, one of my balloons disconected from their string and blew away. I went back in hoping they would either give me another one or let me have my money back. The assistant manager promptly told me "it is not our fault" (you lost the balloon)....I'm thinking well duh! It's not my fault either. Why would I pay for something just for it to go up in the air once I walked out of the store. The manager came over and I explained the situation to him plus showed him the receipt! His response was: "do you think it is our fault or your fault you lost the balloon?" I let him know that I didn't think it was anyone's "fault", but didn't think I should have to pay for something that just blew away from a flimsy string. The manager did finally replace my balloon with another. However, the one it was replaced with had lost a lot of air. My guess the point to all my venting is this: I am so tired of people looking out for just making money. Most big stores like Dillions make enough money that they can afford to replace something once in awhile. If I hadn't had my receipt that would have been one thing, but since I did and it had my freakin' life history that I had JUST been there, they shouldn't have had a cow about replacing it! Just my opinion though!!
In other news, my Grandma DeWeese isn't doing to great. My mom and I went to see her this morning and she seemed to be doing better from the day before. I think it made her happy that we came over and I was glad to see she was feeling better. I just can't stand the thought of losing another Grandma so quickly from my Grandma Tharp.
There is some exciting news. Rich and I have finally completed our homestudy to try and adopt a child. Most of you probably do not know that we have been pursueing the process of trying to adopt. It's been hard not saying anything to anyone, but now that we finally have the homestudy done, I feel I finally can. We are both pretty excited about trying to adopt and start a family! Nothing will probably happen for another year because of everything that is involved in adopting, but we are in the process and have been trying to talk about various things concerning having children in our home. I will let you know more as time goes on. Pray for us that this will go smoothly!

It's been a long time

I can't believe how long it has been since I last blogged! I'm kind of distrated right now because I'm also watching my favorite comedian on TV, Bill Engvall. My friend Stephanie "introduced" me to him several years ago, and he is just the funniest thing!! I think I currently have all his CD's and can't wait until another one comes out.
I can't really say anything exciting has happened since I last blogged! I have been busy working and trying to stay organized. Work really has been busy which is a good thing. The kids have cabin fever and I have to admit I do to! I can't wait for spring to come, but I guess that is aways off! It's even harder with some of the nice days we have had, but I wouldn't trade them for anything in the world!! One of my kids and I went to the park last week one day, and had so much fun! This week promises to be another busy week. I have to be at work tomorrow at 8 in the morning which I'm not thrilled about! Not only am I not a morning person, but Mondays just stink!! At least maybe I will get my car back this week. My car has been getting fixed from someone backing into me. If I get my car back, I can go work out. I joined Curves a couple weeks ago and LOVE it!! It is so much fun and I actually ENJOY working out!! Unfortunately, I haven't be able to go because of the car situation. Hopefully like I said I will get my car back and will be able to go.
