Am I still sane?

Well this weekend was certainly interesting to say the least. I have been having such a time with Preston since the adoption. Nothing actually bad, just that the little things have been adding up. He's going to be in high school in about 3 weeks so I'm trying EVERYTHING I can to make sure we stay on the right track in these last couple weeks. He's going to be and is an awesome kid, he's just making me earn a ton of grey hair at the moment!! Thankfully, I have such a HUGE support system that I know we're going to make it. Let me just say I'm REALLY learning to for once in my life become assertive!!
I did have the date this weekend. My parents met him which was actually cool. We spent the day going to lunch and just really having a wonderful time talking and laughing. I finally got to talk to him about a misson trip he had gone on a few years ago and see pics as well. That was SO fascinating to me!! I got to learn more then I would have ever known about another part of the world.
Towards evening we went to the fair and hung out for awhile. Introduced the poor guy to tons more people and some more family members. Assured him there would not be a quiz that evening, but probably one in the future....lol! I'm kidding of course! The Heather Shelley concert was a lot of fun. She sang songs from her upcoming album and then some older songs which was fun. After the concert I got introduced to Regina Spektor's music. Very interesting, fun music to be introduced to.
The evening ended on a good note. I think he is kind of planning on coming for my class reunion. That would be a lot of fun to have him here for that and share some more of my growing up days with him. I am just PRAYING at this point that we continue to be friends and that I can feel at ease with calling him and continuing this friendship that we started a year ago.
