Allergies...Oh my goodness

I had new allergy testing done about 2 weeks ago. It wasn't good...lol! When all said and done, I was just as, if not more allergic to the world as I was after having it done 4 yrs ago. Found out I also have a chronic sinus infection so am on antibiotics for a month...maybe less now since it's been a few weeks. Had my first allergy shot Fri. Thought it went rather well, however, by Fri night...I was having trouble breathing. My dad asked me if I had been running...yeah right! :) Finally got the breathing to chill out, woke up Sat and morning and could hardly speak. Great!! So now, I've experienced some shortness of breath and now I can't talk! What's a girl to do?? I try calling the 24 hr line at the allergy dr. I get a hold of of the receptionist (?) tell her a brief report of what's going on. She calls the dr and no answer. No biggie: she pages the dr., tells me he will call back at some point. Ok....so I'm waiting. I NEVER get called back!! I still have very little voice and now I'm cranky....not a good combo. To make matters worse, I got the worst news possible about someone I deeply care about. So, today's gone from bad to worse!
Ok, today I call my family dr. at home. HATE DOING THAT!! Wouldn't normally, but under the circumstances felt it was needed. This dr. DOES call me back and tells me that my voice is just allergy related. Good....least it's not anything to major. I have to double up on the allergy meds for awhile. So now let's review...i can now breathe, but have a crappy voice, i'm supposed to start doing allergy shots twice a week but......well, let's just say this does not excite me! I think in the long run I'm going to be feeling much better, but for the time being this is pretty nuts! Thank goodness for family dr's! Thank goodness my family dr is kind of a family friend! Tonight, I'm happy to say my voice has improved a little so that is a good sign. Something even more exciting is I think I can faintly smell again! I haven't been able to do that for well over a yr! Pretty exciting to me!! Will keep readers informed on the latest.........
