There is so much going on right now or there seems to be. Rich and I are getting closer to having our house liscensed for foster care/adoption. I think this is going to be such a great opprotunity for us. We have talked about kids of a long time, so I hope we can make a difference for a child. I am so excited about the prospect of becoming a "parent" to a child if only for a little bit. Kind of scary too considering what a goofball I can be...lol! Maybe that's why kids like me??
A happy day for me has once again come. Our bowling team has decided that we are going to bowl this year in Kingman. I'm pretty excited about it. Although I wish the bowling alley here in town would open, I really like bowling in Kingman! There is a chance that I may get to be on a travel league as well, but that isn't for sure yet. I'm just happy for the chance to continue to bowl weekly.
In other news, I'm also looking forward to seeing all my "camp buddies" soon! It's been a long time since I have seen them so it is going to be great to see them and catch up with them. Call me goofy (people usually do) but I seem to have the same "I can't wait!" feeling that I used to get as a kid waiting for summer camp to get here! That will be the weekend after my sister gets married so that is going to be a busy month for me.

I can't believe that this month is almost over! Seems like just last week the sun was beating down and the pools were open for swimming! I always have mixed feelings during this time of year. On one hand I am still watching my favorite summer sport, baseball. I love watching wondering who is going to win their division and if the Braves are going to make it to the world series (and win) this year. On the other hand there is my favorite sport, bowling. YES...I do consider bowling a sport!! I love to bowl and have done so since I was 6! My dad taught me how to bowl and it has been something I love to do ever since!! I love the feeling of trying to do my best while being a part of a team and helping them to win. I even joined a travel league a couple years ago which has added to my enjoyment of the sport. This year may be the first year I have not bowled and it not be my choice except for the year I broke my leg and had to miss the last couple weeks.
Our bowling alley closed after the end of last season and has been up for sale since that time. I had hoped that someone would buy the bowling alley and those of us who enjoy it would not miss a beat. This unfortunately has not been the case. I saw one of my teammates this weekend who echoed my thoughts that by now we should be getting ready to start bowling. Hopefully someone will buy it soon so that the season will not be lost completely. Bowling is a lot of fun to do either by yourself or competing with friends on a team.
In the meantime baseball is still on TV and as long as it is on maybe I will be content. If not, maybe I will have Rich build a bowling alley in our house!! :)

Again??

Well another work week has come to an end! I have to say that this week was not to eventful, but with school starting, things are bound to get interesting. I went to the store tonight after I got off work. I went there on a mission. I have been trying to "spike" my hair for the last several months or at least try and explain the style to my hairdresser who has no more of a clue of what I am talking about then I have in explaining it! Well after going through the store and getting more than what I came for I finally got to the hair section. There in front of me where several products to help with this "spiking" process. I finally settled on a product called "got to b glued". I went home, read the instructions (my mom tells me I should always do that), and proceeded to "SPIKE" my hair. WELL.....let me just tell you that when they say glue they mean it! I put the product in my hair the way I thought it should go, and it definately got spiked! The front actually started out looking cute, however, the back was a little different story. Since again I really don't know what I am doing, the back looked like I had just gotten out of bed only evened out!! I then went to my mom's to show her which wouldn't have been bad only her neighbor who is my age was outside! Mike is such a nice guy and would never say anything rude to me, but I'm sure as we were talking he was wanting to laugh so hard at the sight before him! Maybe not, but probably!! When my mom finally saw my "creation" we both decided that my hair is to long for what I am wanting to do with it. She did think the front of my hair was kind of cute so maybe I will do it that way some...I'll have to think about it.

I'm happy to say that all is well with the pool fiasco & all is well in the Sherrick household! After almost emptying the pool yeasterday afternoon, I spent last night eating dinner & watching "Big Brother5", both of which I know how to do well!!
Unfortunately, the weekend is once again coming quickly to an end! I really do love my job, but like most people HATE Monday! Monday has to be the worst day of the week for me. It seems to be the day of the week when most of the bad crap happens, which on one hand I should probably be thankful for. Once all the bad crap happens on Monday it's down hill from there!
Fortunately, I have a couple of great things to look forward too at the end of this week. One of the special events this week will be my dad's birthday. He will be 57 years old, which makes me really happy! Sadly my dad has not been in the best of health for several years so for me to celebrate his special day with him makes it all that much better. My dad is very special to me so I hope to see him celebrate until he's 100!
Another special event that will take place is my aunt and uncle's 40 wedding anniversery. While Rich and I are just about to celebrate one year together in Sept, these two wonderful people have been together 40 years which is something that is remarkable to me! I am so honored to be attending their anniversery celebration at the end of the week and to wish them the best for several years to come.
Well in case I don't add anything for a few days I hope everyone has a wonderful week and pray that I don't take my hatered of Mondays out on the alarm clock!

When will I learn?

Well this will be interesting or at least fun! As usual I have NO idea of what I'm doing! Hopefully, someone will read this though and get at least some humor out of it! I do a lot of things that I seem to not know what I am doing. Sometimes it turns out really well for me, other times not so hot!!
Take for example this afternoon, I was trying to check the pool filter to see if we needed to get a new filter. I went outside and took the filter cap off and out came the water!! OPS!! Unfortunately, I had to admit my mistake to Rich before all the water went out of the pool. Of course then Rich had to come out and fix the filter which didn't make him too happy with me. Let's just say, I will not be touching the filter again!! I am a very smart person (or at least I like to think so) so why did I do this? I wanted the pool to be clean so that IF it ever warms up again I can go swimming! I am glad to say that no harm was done to the pool only to my ego which I will get over soon! For those of you who have not yet met Rich let me just say he is wonderful!!
